IR - Qualification for instrument flying
IR qualification authorizes the pilot for instrument flying
Student requirements:
Applicant for IR(A) must have PPL(A), including qualification for night flights or CPL(A) and must have at least 50 hours of flight time experience with navigation flights as a head pilot in an aircraft or a chopper, but at least 10 of these hours must be done with an aircraft.

To start the practical part it is required to absolve the theoretical part IR(A)/ATPL (A) in approved FTO. Student must show certificate that he absolved theoretical course IR (A)/ATPL (A).
Applicant for IR(A) must have sufficient knowledge of Czech language and must show an ability of using english language as states Appendix 1 k JAR-FCL 1.200 by passing a specific exam of using english langauge at ÚCL.
Counting previous experience: Holder of qualification CPL(A) or absolvent of module – basics of instrument flying may have reduced the overall amount of training by 10 hours.
