Enroute Instrument Rating - EIR

WP_20130912_007The holder of an EIR can perform flights in daytime under IMC conditions in the en-route phase of flight. This privilege can be extended for night flights under IFR in en-route phases of flight, if the pilot is already a holder of a night rating. 

Entry requirements

  • The student must hold at least a medical class 2 certificate with an extra examination according to a MED.A.030(g)
  • be at least 18 years of age
  • must have PPL(A) or CPL(A) and have at least 20 hours of navigation flights as pilot in command

Training syllabus


 The theory consists of 80 hours of lectures and consultations in ATO school. Before practical training, the student will receive a certificate of completion of this theory course according to FCL.615

 Practical training

Ground school: 10 hours

Flight training: 15 hours
