PPL(A) - Private pilot licence 

The PPL pilot licence enables to perform the post of the pilot in command (not for a consideration) of any aircraft used for non-commercial flights.

Basic training

Applicant must be:
  1. at least 17 years of age
  2. in possession of a valid medical certificate of Class 1 or Class 2
  3. in possession of a valid Radiotelephone Operator Licence before the first practical training (this course is included in theoretical pre-flight preparation).

Course Lay-out:

  • Theory
    Theoretical pre-flight preparation takes place in our new classroom at Sazená airport.

    Theoretical part comprises 50 lessons and is in the form of lectures and consultations, the second part of the theoretical preparation is in the form of selfstudying and consultations.

    The syllabus of the theoretical part includes:
    Air Law, Aircraft General, Flight Performance and Planning, Human Performance and Limitation, Meteorology, Navigation&Radio Aids, Operational Procedures, Principles of Flight and Communication.

     

  • Practice
    A minimum of 45 hours of flight time is required according to the approved syllabus.
    A holder of a valid ULLa , Glider and Helicopter pilot licence is allowed to count in 10% of his/her flown hours of flight time as pilot in command (10 hours at the most) into the total number of hours of flight time to receive a PPL licence.
    The training is performed on the aircraft type Cessna 150 or Piper PA-28.

    PPL flight training syllabus:
    1. pre-flight activities including determination of weight and balancing, pre-flight inspection and airplane attendance
    2. airport traffic and flight operation arrangement, measures and procedures to prevent collisions
    3. pilotage according to external visual orientation
    4. flight during emergency low air speed, recognition and prevention of initial stalling and fall
    5. flight during emergency high air speed, recognition of spin and spin-recovery
    6. usual take-offs and landings and cross-wind
    7. maximum capacity take-offs, landings on the short distance landing areas
    8. flight only with the use of radionavigation, including 180 degrees turn on the horizon
    9. navigation flights with the use of visual orientation, dead reckoning navigation
    10. emergency procedures
    11. arrivals, departures and cross-country flights over controlled aerodromes, procedures of communication and phraseology

     

  • The End of Course
    Theoretical examination is in the form of test taken at the Civil Aviation Authority. Practical skills are checked by the testing officer (examinator) of the Civil Aviation Authority.

 

 

 

Training / re-training for the Aircraft Type Piper PA-28, Cessna 150, Cessna 172, Cessna 172 RG

is designed for the holders of valid PPL, CPL, ATPL licences.
