  The Ultralight plane pilot licence -  ULLa

The ultralight plane pilot licence - ULLa authorizes to flight the aerodynamically controlled double-seat planes with the maximum takeoff weight of 450 kg.

Applicant must be:

  1. At least 15 years of age. Persons under 18 years of age must have the agreement from their statutory representatives.
  2. In possession of a valid medical certificate issued by a sport physician who is qualified to issue such certificates.
  3. It is advisable for all the applicants to become a member of LAA ČR

Course Lay-out:

  • Theory
    Theory is lectured in our new classroom at Sazená airport.
    1. It is divided into two parts, after passing the first one, you will get airborne for the first time.
    2. In accordance with the UL syllabus the trainee has to go through 45 lessons of Aerodynamics and Mechanics of Flight, Constructions of Sport Flying Devices, Procedures UL1, UL2, UL3; Connection and Radiocommunication, Navigation, Meteorology; Engines, Propellers and Aeronautical Instruments.
    3. Including Radiotelephone Operator course

  • Practice
    1. Flying is classified by 4 grades. Getting grade 1 and 2 allows the trainee to go on with the next lesson. Grade 3 means repetition of the lesson and getting 4 requires to return one lesson backwards.

  • The End of Course
    1. Occurs, if the student fulfils the basic syllabus and is in his/her instructor´s opinion ready to pass the final examinations.
    2. The issue of a pilot licence is considered by a LAA ČR inspector on the basis of the results of the theoretical and practical exams.

      Watch out! - In accordance with the training syllabus, it is mandatory to go through at least 20 hours of flight time. However, this must be understood as an imposed minimum of which passing does not automatically leads to the pilot licence acquisition. Generally, it is advised to count on a few additional hours.

       

      Anyone who do not prove the ability to fly, will not be alowed to take the final exams!

Flights into Controlled Airspace


Got a pilot licence, however, are you still reluctant to fly to controlled aerodromes? Want to reduce your path with fly- through CTR, but don´t know how to? You will learn and practise it in our Controlled Flights VFR Course.

 

Applicant must be:

  • in possession of a valid pilot licence
  • in possession of a valid Radiotelephone Operator Licence
  • re-trained for the Zephyr 2000 type

Theoretical preparation


comprises 8 lessons and is lectured in our new classroom at Sazená airport.

Theory includes:
flight plan submission, work with AIP, NOTAM and maps, pilot´s ability to obtain information for the flight in the controlled airspace, training of radiocommunication for the flight in the controlled airspace, altimeter setting procedures, entrance and leaving CTR

  • Practical training - Controlled Flights VFR:
    Practical training syllabus - page 19.
  • The End of Course:
    An inspector of the LAA CR (with Controlled Flights VFR qualification) will assess the trainee´s competence during the flight to Prague Ruzyně Airport. If passing the practical and oral theoretical exams, the trainee will be given a CF VFR qualification which will be confirmed in his/her pilot licence.
